I have lived in East Sussex all my life and my first introduction to painting, I can hardly call it art, was at the approximate age of 5 or 6 when I discovered a tin of paint in the garden shed, was unable to find any brushes but newspaper obviously acted as a good substitute and then proceeded to ‘paint’ the shed. This prompted my mother to buy me my first box of paints which gave me many hours of pleasure.
Although I never opted for art as a subject at school, I was always keen to take part in any competitions and exhibitions that my school organised. My work at the time was predominantly pencil sketches of downland scenes.
Many years elapsed before I reintroduced myself to the art world and enrolled on evening courses at our local Community College concentrating on watercolour techniques.
I have also produced a small selection of greeting cards left blank for your own message. These and most of my paintings are available for purchase.
I am currently one of the artists exhibiting at the Winter Exhibition, Gallery North, Hailsham, East Sussex, until 17th December.
